1930s Toy Horse BREVETTATO FIGIR ITALIA, wired resin composite celluloid, 95 mm

This was part of a young boy's toys who grew up during the Depression. This is a toy horse made of a composite of resin, wood and/or cellulose with a wire skeleton. It is actually quite sturdy and hard notwithstanding the cracks and losses here and there; nothing is loose. It is hand painted with original paint. It is marked on the bottom "Brevettato Figir Italia" which means Patented Italy though there is no word "figir". He is 3 3/4" or 95 mm tall including the base. There is a hole in the saddle which accommodated interchangeable riders. The livery is red and black and there is what appears to be a bed roll in back suggesting military origin.

Significant flaws not depicted in the photos are described here-with, minor flaws and normal wear are not. Unless the item is described as new, assume there will be minor flaws or wear commensurate with a used item of given age.
