NEWLY MADE DVD of exclusively CC&P scenes* between Freeport and Rockford Illinois on separate trips during the 1988/89 winter. Well shot and edited. Newly transferred to DVD. Extended sequences of switching at Wallace Yard with company buildings still being used. Fuel tracks busy and packed with multiple road freight power sets. Coal trains with all Geep power starting and leaving town. Meets at Seward. Working WigWag near Winnebago, Il and lots of surprises.

Here are
some
locomotive numbers and locations and highlights on this 40 minute DVD;
DVD opens at Wallace Yard Freeport, Il fall/winter 1988-
Google Map and Google Earth views of location with identifying arrow of general area and direction of video shot;
Shiny black CC switcher #1328 shoving a cut of cars down north side tracks
In foreground are 5 road locos preparing to depart east with a coal train
units are; (all ex-IC/ICG Geeps) #'s 8234 orange/white, 9435 black, 8163 o/w, 9426 b and 8002 o/w. We see (and hear) the train start and run up notches with plenty of exhaust from the 567's.
At Seward, this train meets a WB coal train with units; 8055 o/w, 7863 o/w, ex-MILW "bandit' 967, "bandit" 978 , 9420 black, and 8041, o/w. We see the west signal go to red as he pulls out onto main and throttles up.
Heading back to Wallace, we see "the Rockford local" with a single ex-MILW bandit, (# unclear) running long hood forward with 5 cars and a red cupola caboose.
At Wallace, a Marathon truck and employee is fueling the #9420 unit from the WB coal train seen at Seward. The entire power set is pulled into the fuel area.
An ALCO RS unit #1689 was parked in the yard with rather good looking paint and MONROE along hood. Behind this was another ALCO painted for TP&W. While there is video of the 1689,  stills are included of the #401 in bright red and white paint (later on the DVD, we see the 1689 idling just east of Freeport at a grain elevator).
We see this power set exit the fuel tracks, tie onto its empty train and slowly proceed west past the yard buildings
The Rockford Local bandit finally gets into the yard (it is #965)
the next scenes (trip) are farther into the same winter (a little snow is on the ground) and with low sun and blue skies we find the ALCO RS unit quietly idling.

The ALL CNW DVD is 2 hours includes extended sequences from the 1988-1993 DVDs, (left off the original edit in the late 80's; waycars, longer runbys, single grabs of one train or "orphan" elements. Also longer scenes (and audio) of the Presidential F units as they ran special trips out to the wye at Nelson (my home was across from NQ near Woodland Shores, so was able to catch alot of 'Northwestern action).
ALL SOO Line DVD is 1 hour 55 minutes and has All seasons, all paint schemes. Lots of waycars!! A
derailment cleanup at Adeline siding, run through SP power, ex-MILW switchers, long pacing sequences along the Mississippi, Bensenville, Savanna and Dubuque. Lots of rural Illinois scenes!
All shot by same photographer and a collection available only here!!  Dozens of the 1988, 89, 90 and 1991-93 DVDs already sold and these newer DVDs are extended scenes taken from the Master VHS tapes with transfer correction.
