Description
Celluloid Lion Turn of the Century4” tip of nose to tip of tail --2 ½” floor to the top of his mane.
Copper/brown, Great detail
Red rhinestone eyes
On the underbelly is an embossed “Made in USA”
This is in super condition for a turn of the Century item ** –but as I just looked at the writing on the bottom, I noticed that a seam runs along the left leg and has come apart— ( the photo with the image of Light shows the seam) I NEVER do any type of repair -leave that to whoever receives.
It is a simple spot of the right glue, but still would not do it myself.
I will sell AS IS .
(I said he, because there is an attempt to sort of show that fact) I have in a Simi hard plastic case, for protection.
This baby is a beauty for any collector, the detail for this time period is excellent.
I thank the kind person who sent me additional on this item, the following is the information:
made by the Viscoloid company in Leominster, Massachusetts between about 1901 and 1927 when the company was bought by DuPont and the toys phased out.
Please Check out the photos, and see if this suits your needs, before you bid and please ask any questions, will answer ASAP.

IF this is a store or BIN listing –Bin = Buy It Now –No need to wait till listing Ends, just ---
“
CLICK AND IT IS YOURS”
IF THIS IS AN AUCTION PLEASE Note: Many of my clients have won items at a
great cheap price, as they
put in that first low bid
, (don’t wait for someone like “me”) to steal it at the last moment for the opening price. No one should pay more than they want, but we also don’t like to look at the end, and say I would have paid .50 more. Put in your Max.
Read my ME -on thoughts about auctions.
I don’t end listings that have a bid. Nothing ventured Nothing gained.
If this is a
“Make an Offer”,
I am open during these times to accept reasonable offers. I try to price my items, way under market.
Also never want to limited the use of make an offer, like to deal, and understand the way the economy is today, if you like something and it might be above what your limit might be, talk to me.
SHIPPING:
You have choices on shipping!!
I package all items with the utmost care, the way I would like to get them.
I recommend Priority Shipping, it is best for both of us. On paper items if you select first class, I will put in support in the envelope, please understand, at times, these get bend or fold in a pile of mail and weight on top will bend.
With priority I put autographs in a box. I can’t foresee what might happen in shipping, but on major damage or lost you will have my full help in the matter. It will become a TIME issue, understand this please, we both will need to follow their procedures. This service should be done by all sellers.
I will COMBINE INVENTORY without a problem but please let me know what you have in mind, keep me in the loop. I like to ship fast, and if don’t know will pack and post quickly.
Would like payment or CONVERSATION within 3 days, (PAY PAL) please ask any question if you are in doubt in any way about anything in regards to the item, before biding or purchase.
CUSTOMS & SHIPPING –MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION-
International Buyers NOTE:
You
are responsible for customs fees and may experience delays due to customs.
Import duties, taxes and charges are NOT included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up—do not confuse them for additional shipping charges. Please check with your country’s Customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying and or if your Customs might be a problem with delivery.
We do not mark merchandise values below value- US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.
GLASS items will be insured when I can (first class at times will not allow, different rules different counties—protects us both. WARNING: When shipping internationally if you know that there will be an item that may not get through customs.
IT WOULD BE BEST TO HAVE ITEMS (THAT WOULD QUALIFY VIA REGISTERED MAIL—Items then can be traced at each step—
Most items can be shipped worldwide. Free shipping option; this option is for domestic shipping only. The shipping calculator should show you what the shipping +packaging will cost for domestic and often international purchases. As a general rule, I can, at your request, ship an item First Class International. By paying for an item being shipped First Class International, buyer should assume responsibilities for YOU POSTAL SERVICES.
Damaged/Shipping:
·
Time to Time shipping damage happens. As a seller I will do everything I can to help get refunds/claim damage returned to my buyers.
Please note this will take time and more work on my part, but I am a seller and this is one of my responsibilities with each and every client.
BUT buyers
can make this easier for both of us. This is most important with glass items/breakables. Do this from all sellers.
·
When item is delivered
, give the box a small shake-can you
hear breakage/damage
— IF SO
do not accept the delivery (refuse
) and have them send it back to sender. If you’re
not at home, still check before you open
(small shake)
-- don't open it-take to post office
and again tell them you refuse-shipment-Post office will sent back without cost
IF not opened
. If a problem with clerk ask for the post master
!
Seller
is the only one that can make the claim (not eBay/Seller’s rules –they are the post office rules and most all shippers).
This is the reason sellers will state that they will not pay for damaged return shipping –
those costs most times happen because the box has been opened.
The postal clerk will make notes; they received and then ship back to me. I then, will go to the post office, where they will open at that time, make notes and I will file the claim. NOTE: With eBay (doesn’t matter if we had insurance for more money) shippers, all of them, will
ONLY pay the amount that client (buyer) paid for the item
–I will need to fill out forms, give them the copies of the sale (prove of the value) and shipping costs. Again only cost shipping to buyer. Most times this takes about 2 months, last problem I had was 3 trips to post office, 2 calls to their main damaged claims office (in St. Louis) and 3 months before they sent me a check, which I then transferred the amount back to my client. They lost the first set of paper work, found out on one of the calls to claim center. I pack super well (don’t want the problems for either of us) but as we have seen at times, the delivery services don’t always handle items the way they should have been handled.

This general information will be on most all of my listings. Understand use when applies.
At times I put some items from the store on BIN or Auction sale, when eBay is offering a special deal, and always at a super price—WIN WIN for all of us.
Reserve the right to cancel or change an auction due to little or no bid activity. I will do my best to give accurate representations, descriptions and pictures of any item I sell. Many of the items I sell on eBay are antique, collectible, Memorabilia and a few other goodies.
Normal signs of wear can be expected. Many customers have commented that received items were better than described. On occasion I may miss a defect or something that should be brought to a buyers’ attention. Please remember, mistakes are not intentional and am always willing to add information or corrections, without hesitation.
Life is not always set in stone, at times; it can and should be negotiated. (J. Rey Nolds)
